
Monica E. Schmidt, DO
Dr. Schmidt brings extensive experience in primary care and a genuine passion for building long-term relationships with her patients. A West Michigan native, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids. Prior to attending medical school, she earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan and worked as an engineer in medical device development.
Upon completion of her internship, Dr. Schmidt began serving as a physician in the United States Air Force. During her military career, she cared for members of the armed forces and their families in a wide variety of settings, including family and flight medicine clinics, military hospitals, emergency medicine departments, and deployed medical sites. She additionally was assigned leadership roles focused on quality improvement and patient care in various locations both in the United States and abroad.
Most recently, Dr. Schmidt has continued practicing family medicine through telehealth and community education programs while living in the UK alongside her husband, a United States Air Force pilot and their two young children. Throughout her career, she has remained dedicated to helping patients stay healthy through preventive care, chronic disease management, and personalized treatment plans.
